Chaos at the MGM

Last Saturday just past 11 a.m. and it's Chaos here at the Mgm Grand. A special announcement is about to get made concerning the possible return of Floyd Money Mayweather Jr. As I make my way around towards the front of the casino, I run right into World Class Trainer Nacho Beristain. At that time I then begin to make some calls to see what the papers are saying. An hour goes by and it's now official, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is back and will face Juan Manuel Marquez on July 18. I then begin to make my way towards my car and at that time I see Oscar De La Hoya getting into his shiny black escalade, just as his driver is about to hit the road, I call out Oscar's name and he then also confirms to me that the fight is made and that it will be under the Golden Boy banner, I then ask Oscar at what weight will it take place and he answers that it will be around 145 or so.

At that time, I am a little puzzled as to what the exact fighting weight will be. Don't get me wrong, I mean I am a strong believer that the fight is won by skills and not weight, but for this fight between two classic counter punchers such as Mayweather Jr. and Marquez the scheduled weight just may dictate. As I am still waiting to cross the street to get my car at that time I see none other than the man of the hour, Floyd Mayweather Jr., I first tell him that I think it's great to have him back, Floyd then smiles and says '' It's great to be back, the best pound for pound fighter in the sport is back.'' I then ask him the Million dollar question, Before I can even get the question out, Floyd answers, '' The fight will be at welter weight.''

So there you have it, the King of gab is back, flashier than ever before along with his cocky attitude and swagger still on ultimate high. On July 18, it is expected to be a big event, I have got to say that it has the sort of feel like when Jordan came back sporting the 45. With Pacquiao blitzing Hatton in quicker fashion than Mayweather did, and say Mayweather is to handle Marquez with less trouble than Pacquiao did when Pacquiao faced Marquez, the stage will with out a doubt be set and the lights will be brighter than ever before for a long awaited Mayweather/Pacquiao duel in the winter. The who's, the what's, and the when's have all been answered, only thing that seems to not have a sure answer is the weight, The ''Weight'' continues.
