FLOYD MAYWEATHER: NUTS, A FRAUD, OR A COWARD?

FLOYD AGAIN SHOWS HIS IGNORANCE

Las Vegas, NV- Floyd Mayweather, Jr (39-0, 25 KOs); will return from a brief retirement against Juan Manuel Marquez (50-4-1, 37 KOs) in July, hasn’t changed much since we last heard from him. He still considers himself the best fighter in the game, and doesn’t seem to think Manny Pacquiao (49-3-2, 37 KOs) deserves this distinction. In a recent interview with ESPN’s Brian Kenny, Mayweather even proclaimed that his victories over Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton were more impressive than Pacquiao’s dominate wins over the same two men. He makes the claims that he fought a fresh De La Hoya who didn’t have to kill himself to make weight and an undefeated Ricky Hatton, who according to Floyd has never been the same mentally and physically since losing to him in December 2007.

WELTER MAYWEATHER A FRAUD SANS COTTO & SHANE

But, Floyd will be Floyd and his high opinion of himself will probably never change. However, making the safe assumption he gets past Marquez in July, if the Pacman schedule is still open, than a super fight between the two could be made. I have stated before and I still believe that if Mayweather feels there is a remote chance of him losing a fight to Pac, he will not take it. He will use clever ploys such as citing rifts between himself and Pac’s promoter, Bob Arum as reasons the fight cannot be made. But even if he takes the fight with Pac, and even if he wins the fight, I am not so sure he earns the title as the pound for pound best. Not until he beats the best in his own division, not guys one and two divisions lighter, which are divisions not as talent rich as the welterweight crowd. If he wants to be considered the best and plans to stay at 147, he must beat a Miguel Cotto (33-1, 27 KOs), Shane Mosley (46-5, 39 KOs), Paul Williams (37-1, 27 KOs) or disgraced former champ Antonio Margarito (37-6, 27 KOs)-in short a real top ranked welterweight.

MEAN SPIRITED PUG HAS SHORT MEMORY

Mayweather also likes to make points about Pac being stopped twice in his career, as reasons Pac isn’t “worthy” of fighting the great Floyd Mayweather, Jr. Well, Floyd what makes you worthy of fighting him considering you lost to a guy in the Olympics by the name of Serafim Todorov (5-1, 1 KO) who only beat one man with a winning record and his combined opponents had a record of 11-46-1? Now, naturally we won’t hold that against you as it was over ten years ago and in your amateur career, but Pac’s losses were also a decade or more ago and at flyweight when he could barely afford to feed himself, let alone have a decent training camp. Being a fan of both men, I don’t like to pick on Floyd, but sometimes the truth hurts.
