Contrary to some beliefs, a lot of people are watching 'Money' Mayweather
Whoever said nobody is watching Mayweather-Marquez or paying attention to their 24/7 show on HBO is greatly mistaken. Surely somebody from JP Morgan Chase must've been watching when Floyd was giving the cameras a tour of his new mansion in the first episode of the show and said,
"We got the big boy mansion, we got Lambos, we got Rolce Royces, we got a lot of stuff, but guess what the difference is between me and everybody else? My sh#t is paid for, what about yours?"
Perhaps that's why he didn't mention anything about the Mercedez Maybach 57S that the bank repossessed. The bank claimed that Money May owed $167,000 on an auto loan that is in default on top of legal expenses and filed a lawsuit against the boxer last Wednesday.
This comes after reports weeks ago from the Associated Press that Money May owed the IRS over $6 million dollars in back taxes dating to 2007. The Mayweather camp has brushed off all the allegations and his adviser Leonard Elerbe said,
"We don't pay attention to any of that. He (Floyd) is living comfortably and he doesn't have problems with the IRS."
To say Money May is living comfortably is being modest but the question is not his lifestyle. Perhaps if these allegations are proven to be true, Floyd and his camp needs to truly start paying attention to his finances. Can you imagine how sad a site it would be to see Floyd without money? It may sound improbable now but MC Hammer did it, and so did a lot of former boxing champs like Mike Tyson.
Floyd is a great boxer, here's hoping outside the ring that he truly got his act together.
